Love, Joy, Peace...
At Providence, ministry is about more than programs—it’s about people. We believe God has called each of us to grow in Christ, serve one another, and share His love with the world around us. Our ministries are designed to help people of all ages connect, grow spiritually, and use their gifts in meaningful ways. Whether you’re looking for a place to belong, a way to serve, or an opportunity to grow deeper in your faith, there’s a place for you at Providence. We invite you to explore our ministries and find where God may be leading you to get involved.
Kid's Club
Kids Club is a fun and engaging opportunity for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade to grow in their faith and build friendships. Kids Club meets on Wednesday nights during the school year and is designed to help kids learn about God in an exciting and meaningful way. A typical Kids Club night includes worship, a large-group Bible lesson, Scripture memorization, and a variety of activities and games. Each part of the evening is planned to help kids understand God’s Word while having fun in a safe and encouraging environment. If you’re interested in having your child participate—or if you’d like to serve as part of the Kids Club team—we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us by email or reach out through our Facebook page for more information.
Youth Group: (9th-12th Grade)
Our Youth Group exists to provide a safe and welcoming space where students can build community with their peers and grow in their faith. We gather weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM in our Youth Room for Bible study and fellowship. A typical Wednesday night includes worship, devotions, Bible study, an activity, and refreshments—creating a relaxed environment where students can learn, ask questions, and have fun together. In addition to our weekly gatherings, we also meet regularly on Sunday evenings for social events focused on building strong and meaningful relationships. One of the highlights of the year is our annual summer mission trip. Over the years, our youth have had the opportunity to serve in places such as the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Montana, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, and Columbus, Ohio. If you are interested in learning more about our Youth Group or have any questions, please contact our Youth Pastor, Eric Miller, at 574-849-6105.
Sunday School
Sunday School is an important part of our Sunday mornings at Providence. Each week, we gather at 9:00 AM, before our regular worship service, to study God’s Word together in a setting designed for all ages. We use the Answers in Genesis curriculum, which allows children, youth, and adults to explore the same biblical lesson at an age-appropriate level. This shared approach helps families continue meaningful conversations about Scripture at home while growing together in their faith. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages, from age 3 through adults, with classes meeting throughout the church. If you’re visiting and aren’t sure where to go, someone will be happy to help you find the right class. If you have questions or would like more information about Sunday School at Providence, feel free to reach out to a member of our Elder Board. We’d love to help you get connected.
Men's and Women's Bible Studies
Our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies are a great opportunity to grow in faith, build relationships, and encourage one another in a relaxed and welcoming setting. These groups typically meet once a month on Saturday mornings and include time for breakfast, coffee, fellowship, teaching, and meaningful discussion. You do not need to be a member of Providence to participate—everyone is welcome. Whether you’re looking to connect with others, dive deeper into Scripture, or simply enjoy good conversation over a meal, we’d love for you to join us. If you’re interested in the Women’s Bible Study or would like more information, please contact Amanda Swartzentruber at 812-444-9813. For questions about the Men’s Bible Study (Stand Firm), contact Josh Swartzentruber at 812-787-1500. We hope you’ll consider joining us at an upcoming gathering!
Discipleship Training Program (DTP)
The Discipleship Training Program (DTP) at Providence is a two-year course designed to equip individuals with a deeper understanding of God’s Word. The program meets on Saturday mornings and is focused on helping participants grow in biblical knowledge, discernment, and confidence in Scripture. In Genesis 3, Satan’s first recorded words to Eve were, “Did God really say…?” That same question continues to challenge believers today. One of our greatest defenses against this tactic is the same one Jesus used when He was tempted—to know and stand firmly on the truth of God’s Word. That conviction is the foundation of DTP. DTP is currently in its seventh cycle, and over 30 men from our congregation have completed the program. Graduates are actively applying what they’ve learned in their homes, workplaces, and through service at Providence. If you’re interested in joining the next DTP class beginning in 2026, or if you’d like more information, please contact one of our course instructors: Alex Knepp at alex.knepp@germanamerican.com or Nate Raber at Nate.raber@gmail.com.
Change for a Dollar
The Change for a Dollar Ministry is a simple yet meaningful way we serve individuals and families outside of our church family. Once a month, we take a special offering and invite everyone to give their spare change—small gifts that God uses in big ways. Through this ministry, we have been blessed to help meet practical needs such as groceries, medical bills, utility payments, and other essential expenses. Each gift, no matter the amount, helps provide care, support, and hope to those facing difficult circumstances. If you know someone who could benefit from assistance, please fill out the form below. A member of our team will follow up to gather more information and discuss how we may be able to help.
Small Groups
Small Groups at Providence are designed to help people build meaningful relationships and grow together in their faith. These groups meet once a month on Sundays and provide a relaxed setting for connection, discussion, and encouragement. Whether you’re new to Providence or have been attending for years, Small Groups are a great way to get to know others, share life together, and walk alongside one another as we follow Christ. Each group offers a welcoming environment where everyone can participate and feel at home.
